January in Pouançay

Enjoying mild temperatures for the time of year and glorious winter sunshine I took Augustin and Constance for a walk through the vines. Not wanting to be left out Biscotte came too!

After harvest and during the winter months the taillage of the cabernet franc and chenin blanc vines begins in preparation for spring and I wasn't alone enjoying the glorious day, many of the local vine growers were too.

Next month Gérald will return to London for an evening dedicated to the Loire Valley Cabernet Franc Ambassadors which will be held at Vinoteca, Wine Bar in London. Of the 35 selected 'ambassadors', Domaine de la Paleine has been referenced twice under AOC Saumur and AOC Saumur-Puy-Notre-Dame:
